The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Montgomery County in southeastern Texas...
  Southwestern Polk County in southeastern Texas...
  San Jacinto County in southeastern Texas...
  Southeastern Walker County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 415 PM CDT.

* At 104 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
  2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
  1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
  ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Huntsville, Willis, Livingston, Shepherd, Onalaska, New Waverly,
  Coldspring, Point Blank, Goodrich, Lake Livingston State Park,
  West Livingston, Huntsville State Park, Evergreen and Oakhurst.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
  counties, Grimes, Liberty, Madison, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto,
  Trinity and Walker.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
  remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated
  with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for
  all the water from these storms to work through local drainage
  systems in urban areas. Local media have reported water rescues.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1137 AM CDT, emergency management reported flooding in the
    warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 4
    inches of rain have fallen today in addition to Thursday`s
    rainfall.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Conroe, Huntsville, Cleveland, Willis, Livingston, Shepherd,
    Panorama Village, Onalaska, Cut And Shoot, Groveton, New
    Waverly, Coldspring, Point Blank, Montgomery, Riverside,
    Goodrich, North Cleveland, Huntsville State Park, Lake
    Livingston State Park and West Livingston.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...Trinity River at Riverside.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 137.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding continues as
  several homes in the Green Rich Shores Subdivision in Walker
  County flood and water covers Thomas Lake Road. The lowest
  buildings off FM 980 northwest of Riverside flood.
  At 138.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding continues with water 3 to
  4 feet below the State Highway 19 Bridge and Plantation Drive near
  FM 230 is inundated. FM 2978 is flooded and impassable. Up to one
  foot of water is flowing over Thomas Lake Road which remains
  impassable. Several roads into the Green Rich Shores and Deep
  River Plantation subdivisions are covered with up to one foot of
  water and homes in Deep River Plantation are threatened.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 139.3 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 133.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 7:30 AM CDT Friday was 139.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 139.9
    feet just after midnight tonight.
  - Flood stage is 133.5 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    139.6 feet on 05/04/1957.
